Green Idea

The pump attentants at local petrol (service) stations encourages drivers to top-up a full tank of petrol on each visit and many drivers do so. While this many reduce the number of visits to the petrol station, this may not be the most eco-friendly approach in a city where there are plenty of stations around.
Petrol has a density of 0.737 kg/cu. meter. Ten litres of petrol weighs 7.3 kg. Fuel is dead weight that is being driven around until they are used! Thus, is could make eco sense to top-up to just three-quater tank on each visit to minimise the weight of fuel in the car.
On the contrary, don't let your tank run too low, some manufacturers recommend at least a quater tank of fuel in order not to over stress the fuel pump.
